For the last 10 or 12 years I have used large accounting firms to assist in my complex personal tax returns. Over this time I grew tired of paying thousands of dollars for my tax returns. I wondered if these accountants were working for me, or were they working me?

I met Gabriele Banka through my BNI group and she was eager to get to know me and my business. After getting to know Gabriele, I first used her services for my business tax return and after that smooth and pleasant experience my wife and I decided to do our personal taxes with her as well.

When I was in to review and sign off on my return, she casually mentioned that she was submitting a reassessment of 2007’s return due to losses on my 2010 return, an oversight the previous firm failed to look at. I did not think much of this at the time, “maybe a small return might come of this.” Last week I received my reassessment, and to my surprise was a cheque of just over $20,000!!!
